Osvaldo Rios Appears in the Movie Passion in the Mirror
Pressed by his schedule, Osvaldo Rios did not start rushing about. Instead, he graciously welcomed the interview for Tebe Gia (TV Guide) magazine at the Palmas Del Mar Hotel in Humacao. Here in Humacao, Rios is engrossed in the filming of the much-talked-about film being produced by Puerto Rico’s Centro TV, Una Pasion, In El Espejo. This was also a good opportunity for him to recall various episodes, both private and work-related, that have been etched into his life.
“At the moment I feel really sunny, I’m enjoying life and my everyday routine much more than I used to. Before I was inhuman, I tried to do everything just right, I fought ferociously. In other words, I demanded perfection. The key to achieving the results I desired was to not feel bad about various things like I used to, precisely the attitude I now have. And now that I have a different attitude, I’m in much better condition than other people!”
Osvaldo Rios, the Carolina-born actor, spoke enthusiastically; he understands that this role in Un Pasion, In El Espejo is an extremely important step up in the Puerto Rican entertainment industry.
 “Unlike when I was young, I no longer try to rush life, and the desire to do 1,000 things at once has also diminished somewhat. These days I’m walking step by step, climbing the stairs, enjoying many things.”
The macho star of the Columbian TV drama La Viuda De Blanco (Blanco’s Widow) expressed himself in this way. The striking tattoo on his left shoulder, the hair shining like rubies, and the growing beard?the role Rios played in the TV drama produced by Vicente Castro and Jorge Luis Ramos shines like the actor himself.
“It was a tremendous growth process, like being beaten to the floor and then getting back up again. Personally as well as professionally, I know that I am gradually reaching an extremely interesting level, and this was undoubtedly possible because I worked a lot through various hardships and personal experiences.” Rios, who is also a tropical music singer, says this very confidently as he strolls around this beautiful place sipping a tropical drink.
 In fact, this man being interviewed for Tebe Gia is also famous in Moscow, China, Bosnia, Bulgaria, and other markets in regions a long way from here. Etched in his heart is the fact that much of what he has said before is linked to a number of minor incidents in his public and private lives.
“I have lived intensely, so to make a confession, much of what has been written about me has unfortunately not always been accurate. What I desire most is that someday someone remembers me for my performance in front of the camera or on stage and not for the appeal or incidents that journalism has conjured up. I’ve fought quite a lot to get what’s written about the kind of person I am written seriously, but it’s that kind of job, of course.”
Watching the performances of the actress and presenter Johanna Rosaly and the star Lourdes Chacon, the handsome Rios bared his emotions.
“The most difficult thing in this profession is that sometimes you become extremely vulnerable and unable to control your feelings or emotions. For me, that’s really difficult! Even now, I see myself as that poor Carolina boy. My adoptive father would always say to me, no matter where you go or what you become, you must do things for yourself?put on your clothes, tidy up, put out the garbage. This metaphor is still alive inside me, and I apply it even today.”
Osvaldo Rios disclosed that he is very satisfied with his work schedule both in and outside Puerto Rico.
